HOW TO ORDER / PAYMENT MODES / WARRANTY / CONTACT

 

Simply send us an email, fax or letter stating what item(s) you want. Or use our online order form.

We will reply (usually within hours) and tell you if the requested item(s)  is/are still available.  And we include in our answer a detailed cost calculation including shipping costs and other payment and shipping information.

If you wish, we will also send you a more detailed grading report about the record/s you are interested in.

 

After receiving our answer, PLEASE CONFIRM YOUR ORDER within 3-4 days. We hold the item for you that long. If we receive no confirmtion within 3-4 days, we may freeely dispose of the ordered item and change its price at our discretion. After we receive your confirmation, we will hold the ordered article(s) for you for 2 weeks.

 

Of course,  YOU MAY CHANGE OR CANCEL YOUR ODER AT ANY TIME, if for any reason you are no longer interested in the item(s). If you want to cancel your order, please inform us. Otherwise, your order will be automatically canceled by us if we don't hear from you after or receive no payment within two weeks!

 INQUIRIES ARE NOT ORDERS

Please note that inquiring about a record is not an order. If you merely ask us questions about an item, we do not hold it for you and may modify its price at our discretion. An inquiry is not an order!

 OUR TIME IS AS VALUABLE AS YOURS

People who order records from us, put us to work. We seek out the record, and type up a detailed answer for them. Sometimes several e-mails are exchanged because customers have additional questions. So we spend even more time. If then we don't hear from such a person anymore, they end up on our black list. This means they are banned from future purchases here. They can, however, be removed from the black list by paying SFR 30 / EURO 20 / USD 28 at our first request to do and within 10 days. If they fail to do so, they will be put on our eternal black list and their e-mail addresses blocked on our server. Stealing time is like stealing money. So don't do it.

Orders below a value of EURO 50: We reserve the right to terminate contact at any time with any customer if customer keeps sending us e-mails with constantly new questions and special wishes. We simply do not have the time to do this ("can I pick up my order to save postage?"; "why does postage cost so and so much?", "can you send me a tracklist of your records first?", "can you send me a cover scan", "can you also send me record as an mp3 file?"). Please note that we do not even answer ANY e-mails asking for lyrics or mp3 files. First of all, such a practice on our part would be in violation of international copyright laws, and secondly we fully support the record industry in their efforts to combat and curb the illegal distribution of copied music and other intellectual property.

 

PAYMENT MODES

Deliveries are made after payment is received. You may send cash in registered letter (any Western European currency or US dollars). We can recommend this payment mode, because it is easy, fast, safe and cheap).

 Bank transfer is also possible. Payment to postal checking account is also possible.  No C.O.D. (cash on delivery) is possible.

We welcome payments through PAYPAL. More than 150 million accounts at PayPal show the success of this payment mode. It is extremely fast (takes only seconds), secure and - best of all: payments through PAYPAL are completely FREE for you. (We pay the transfer charge as in case of credit card payments).  We accept all credit card payments which are processed through the safe site of www.paypal.com.

Please don't send us any "postal money orders" that you purchase at a post office. We cannot cash them.

 If you send us a check or any other paper document which we have to take to a bank to cash, please add EURO 10 or US dollars 15 check cashing fee. Cashing checks may take up to two weeks. Please allow payment to clear before delivery.

 

SHIPPING / HANDLING COSTS TO ANY COUNTRY IN EUROPE

Normally SFR 10.- (EURO 6.50, US$ 8.00) for one LP or 12" maxi single, SFR 14  (EURO 9.50 / US$ 12) for 2-4 LPs (a double-album or counts as 2 LPs), and SFR 8.-  (EURO 5.50 / US$ 6.50) for one or two  7" vinyl singles. Additional records will cost extra, and exact cost depends on weight and size of package.

All records are shipped by economy surface mail! Priority air mail rates are higher! ALL RECORDS ARE SHIPPED BY ECONOMY MAIL, UNLESS YOU SPECIFICALLY REQUEST SHIPMENT BY PRIORITY MAIL (there is an extra charge for priority mail). Delivery by economy mail usually takes 4-8 business days within continental Europe (not counting the day of dispatch and the day of arrival). Delivery to the U.K. may take longer, up to 12 business days (God bless Royal Mail), so please don't send us any worry-mails after 3 days.

SHIPPING / HANDLING COSTS TO ASIA, AFRICA, AUSTRALIA, NORTH AND SOUTH AMERICA

 

If you live in Asia or America, please be aware of the fact that postage/handling for one vinyl record album shipped by AIR MAIL / REGISTERED MAIL will be approx. EURO 20.00 or US dollars 22.50! For a double-LP or two LPs the cost would be EURO EURO 29.50 or US dollars 33.50! Please don't place any orders if you are not ready to pay these high shipping costs!!! Our main target market is Switzerland. The rest of the world is a neglibible quantity for us. Still, we do ship worldwide, because collectors find records in our shop that they don't find elsewhere and we love to share our treasures with anyone anywhere in the world. But for common stock records you would preferably not order from us, because chances are you will those items cheaper elsewhere and closer to home. But of course, if it's a rarity you've been looking for in vain for 15 o 20 years and no one else has it, true music lovers or collectors readily accept the fact that having found their long-sought treasure and having it shipped to their front door from halfway around the world is well worth the cost.

 

Postage for shipping may be higher from Switzerland than you know it from other countries. The reason is that Switzerland is a high-price country, and thus postage costs are higher in Switzerland than in many other countries of the world!

 

ALL international packages sent with NO insurance are mailed at the CUSTOMER'S risk, we cannot be responsible for lost or damaged packages that are not insured. We recommend insurance to all (especially if you live in Italy, Greece, Eastern Europe, Russia and overseas countries). AGAIN, BUYER assumes all risk for loss or damage for uninsured packages.
All packages are sent WITHOUT INSURANCE AND NON-REGISTERED unless buyer specifically requests in writing a more costly procedure (at his expense).

Risk devolves upon the buyer, as soon as we hand over a parcel to the post office. In case on non-registered international shipments, our postal receipt (which does not indicate recipient's name and address, but merely weight of parcel and date/time of dispatch of parcel) shall be considered to be proof of dispatch. In case of REGISTERED international shipments, our postal receipt (wich DOES incude recipient's name and address, as well as weight of parcel, tracking number and date/time of dispatch) shall be considered to be proof of dispatch.

We are entitled, yet not obliged, to send parcels by insured and registered mail to our customers - at customer's expense. In exceptional cases we may also send parcels by registered mail - with the registrtation surcharge at our own expense - without, however, thereby creating an obligation to do so in case of future shipments to the same customer.

  

WE SHIP BY REGISTERED MAIL ONLY IF YOU LIVE IN ONE OF THE FOLLOWING COUNTRIES / AREAS:

 ITALY, SPAIN, PORTUGAL, GREECE, EASTERN EUROPE, SOUTHEASTERN EUROPE, NORTH AND SOUTH AMERICA, ASIA .

We may waive this provision at your specific request but then will refuse any liability in case of delay, damage or loss to the parcel.

 All other territories: WE MAY INSIST ON SHIPPING BY REGISTERED MAIL IF WE CONSIDER IT ADVISABLE.

 

 

SPECIAL PROBLEM ZONES:  ITALY AND GREECE:

GREECE and ITALY are special cases. Their postal systems are UNRELIABLE.  For example, it sometimes takes longer for a regular economy mail letter from Switzerland to reach Italy (which is 100 kilometers from here) than the same type of letter to reach Japan (which is 12'000 kilometers from here). Mail to GREECE may even take up to two months to arrive (even if sent by registered mail)!  

Therefore,  we only ship by registered mail to Italy and Greece. And we suggest to send by priority air mail to these two countries (extra cost).

 

If you absolutely prefer economy, non-registered delivery (this is cheaper), we can do so - but this will exclude any responsibility on our part for delayed, lost or damaged shipments.

 

PLEASE NOTE: we do not process or answer complaints due to delays in delivery until 30 days after date of shipment. ITALIAN MAIL SERVICE IS VERY SLOW AND HAS MANY PROBLEMS! So your complaints should be addressed to those people, not to us. We work fast and reliable. They don't!

THEREFORE, PLEASE DON'T ORDER RECORDS FROM US IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND AND ACCEPT THIS CONDITION. IF YOU ORDER RECORDS FROM US YOU AGREE TO HAVE UNDERSTOOD AND ACCEPTED THIS AND THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE!

 

 

 

ALL CUSTOMERS RECEIVE NOTIFICATION WHEN THEIR PAYMENT HAS ARRIVED

All customers outside of Switzerland receive notification by e-mail as soon as payment has arrived here. Plus: we will inform them when their package has been shipped (shipment within 6-24 hours after receipt of payment) and approximately how long it will take to arrive at their address.

 

 

 

MINIMUM ORDERING AMOUNT

There is a minimum ordering amount of EURO 10.50 (plus postage) for ONE vinyl 7" single or EP and EURO13,50 for ONE vinyl LP or 12" maxi single (plus postage/handling). So the minimum amount due for one 7" vinyl record including European postage will be EURO 15. For one LP or other 12" record this amount will be EURO 20.00 including European ECONOMY 7 NON-REGISTERED postage/handling.  

So please don't make any calculations such as "price of 7-inch single = SFR 8 / EURO 5.60, therefore I will get it for EURO 10.10 including postage". The price will be EURO 15 incl. postage if you order just this ONE record! I would like to remind you that some other online shops have minimum ordering amounts of up to EURO 45, because administrative expenses are just too high to send out mini-amount shipments.

 SHIPPING TIME

 We are not responsible for service transit time. Transit times are provided by the post as carrier, and they exclude weekends and holidays. In addition,  they may vary according to package origin and destination, especially during peak periods.

 

RETURNS

ALL ITEMS ARE QUALITY-GUARANTEED. We naturally accept returns if any item is not as described and refund full purchase price less shipping costs after  an item has been returned to us in the same condition as shipped and in the same high-quality packaging. Returns must be shipped within 3 days (postage stamped) of 1st notification of complaint, together with a signed and dated written statement by buyer stating "I certify that I have not recorded this vinyl record on tape, cd, dvd-audio, mp3 or any other format".  Please do not write such a statement without first consulting us. We may waive such a statement and simply refund purchase price.

Buyer is responsible for return shipping charges. Our shipping and handling charges will not be refunded. Customer is entitled to receive a record which is playable without any problems on all conventional record players using conventional pick-up systems. However, please note that we refuse to take back items which allegedly show problems on so-called high-end record players with high-end pick-up systems, if the record can be played problem-free or as describe on regular, conventional hif-fi record players with regular, conventional high-fidelity pick-ups.

PRIVACY STATEMENT

Tom's Recordland GUARANTEES its customers and all and any persons contacting us for any reason either by e-mail, fax, letter or phone that all information received from them will be treated with the utmost confidentiality. We do not give away - either for free or for money - your address or any other information received by you to any third party.

Furthermore, we will not even send you any of our own advertising, newsletters or other  information unless you specifically instruct us to do so.

 

RETURNS POLICY

Our Guarantee & Returns Policy - If having received your item you are not satisfied that it matches the description we have given, you may within 10 days of receipt contact us for return details. We will then either replace the item if we can or refund the purchase price of the item (less shipping costs).
